Leadership Beatrice

What is Leadership Beatrice?  Leadership Beatrice is a program designed to educate, encourage, and support area professionals on their course to become community leaders.  The program is operated through the Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce and began with the 2006-2007 class year.

Area employers sponsor an employee(s) to attend the course which meets once per month.  Each month's class features a different topic to create a diversified and well-rounded experience for the students.  Monthly topics have included local government, health care, agriculture, and arts and education.  Students take tours of area businesses, attend panel discussions, and have hands-on workshops that are relevant to the monthly topics.

Each year, students are required to complete a class project.  The 2008-2009 class chose to create an alumni group for their class project.  The 2008-2009 class gained such valuable knowledge and community insight from the Leadership Beatrice program that they created the alumni group in order to continue their education, networking, and community service.

Leadership students meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from August through May.  A graduation ceremony is held in May.
